ANNUAL PLAY 2011 - WEST SIDE STORY
Under the patronage of Principal Sr Pilar, and the expert advice of the Staff Advisors Ms Saira Mansab and Ms Fatima Ranjha, the CJM Dramatics Society put a memorable production of the famous broadway musical West Side Story. The play was a roaring success. It was presented to the students on Friday the 18th and then for the parents and guests on the 19th and 20th of March, 2011. Very well attended and reviewed, the play revolved around the clash of two gangs of Puerto Rican and Italian youths and a modern day version of Romeo and Juliet, ie Antonio and Maria, from these clashing communities. Ending in tragedy, the play had a message of tolerance and coexistence. Choreography of the dance sequences, especially the famous song 'I am pretty' was as flawless as the fight 'rumble' scene which is the climax of the plot. A huge caste and crew from class 9 and 10 enjoyed this learning experience which will remain in their memories for a long time.
